No matter what else is going on, no matter my frame of mind or the stresses and anxieties, Round Pond is a refreshment. It never fails to provide an escape. Memorial Day Weekend was no exception. It finally felt like summer - lounging on the deck, grilling, our first swim, gorgeous sunsets and great company. Luckily a short work week awaits!

I abandoned the blogship. I shall attempt to right the vessel and get back on board, ready and waiting with seafaring puns for all my many first mates. It's clear I've gone off the deep end. But seriously is there even anyone left? Anyway, it has been a busy month in non-bloggy land with a special event at work eating up all my time and my life. But it's over, it was a success, and hopefully I can get back to serenading you with dribble.
We spent a much needed weekend at Round Pond readying the house for what I hope is a steady stream of summer visitors. The weather was finally pleasant enough to relax on the deck and even though I was there less than 24 hours ago, I can't wait to get back. We did suffer a loss of sorts when we jumped the gun on putting Surprisey the Garden Gnome in his usual watchful post along the driveway. His head cracked off. Happy Summer!
