Just look at them now. When we returned from our week away from the lake, it was immediately apparent that there hadn't been a single drop of rain in our absence. The impatiens, begonias, geraniums, and drooping violets weathered the scorching, but the zinnias are now just crunchy, dried out sticks. Grrr! I was so pumped to be snipping their buds and nestling them in those cute Danish vases inside the house. Oh well. I guess there's always next year.
